Building a Camper - The Box - 1

I am compelled to build a camper. I'm using the existing bed because I believe it is structurally sound, and will be better than an all wood construction. I have a strange way of building things. For instance, I've thought about the design of this camper for probably fifty solid hours. So far I've only used one idea. Another thing about this camper is that I like to use up random hardware that I've inherited and acquired over the years. I build kind of organically, adapting to the situation and the random hardware. Let's see how it goes. Most of the images can be clicked on to see a larger view. I bought 20 2X4X8s, 2 2X4X12s, and thirteen sheets of 15/32 plywood:

I didn't know when I first took the picture, but now I think I can use them to support the cabover bed:

Here is the first move. I have twelve foot 2X4s that I'm running up each side of the truck. There is an existing cross-brace that I bolted the board to. This will define the rest of the camper:
