In Yet Another Engine Cleaning Adventure I mentioned that a threaded rod might have fallen into the carburetor and perhaps into the engine. Well, I was putting the carburetor back on to the intake manifold with a new gasket:
I decided to shake the carburetor and peek inside to see if I could find the threaded rod. Well, it was a screw, actually, and it was lodged in the carburetor:
This time, I'm putting the screw on top and leaving the nut off altogether:
